Weave, previously named The Working Together More Fund, was established to help groups wanting to work together to achieve greater outcomes for their communities.

If we Weave our work together, we can achieve great things; deliver higher quality initiatives, run more services, increase support for our people and communities and achieve long-term positive change for generations to come.
Representatives of funders Wayne Francis Charitable Trust, J R McKenzie Trust, Todd Foundation and The Tindall Foundation came together in 2009 to discuss how they could best help NGOs to manage through the recession and into the years ahead. The funders commissioned research and consultation into collaboration and found that:
• Community groups work together a lot already
• Successful collaboration takes time and is not always easy
• It is unlikely to work if forced
• It can add significant value to groups’ effectiveness and efficiency
In October 2009, the Working Together More Fund – He Pūtea Mahi Tahi – was launched. Two years later in 2011, The Hugh Green Foundation joined the group followed by the DV Bryant Trust in 2013, the Len Reynolds Trust in 2018 and the Lindsay Foundation in 2019.
Until the end of 2020, the Fund ran three granting rounds a year. Now, the Weave committee is focused on supporting organisations in a way a more holistic way, one that works for them, providing funding, resources, information, training and helps build capacity.
Weave will build trusted relationships and partner with collaborating organisations in a meaningful way so that together positive change can be made to support communities.
About Us
“We have been able to more than double the number of carer education programmes we offer. We would be happy to share our experience with any other organisations thinking about joining together in some way.”
